Today we headed downtown to see the city that was built by immigrants. First, we visited a church built by Italian immigrants. While we were there we learned about the important impact Italian immigrants had, and still have, on the city of Columbus. We briefly drove by the Irish section of town, and learned that many Irish settled there during the Irish potato famine. Finally, we stopped in German Village and were excited to see many of the landmarks we had been researching. We ate lunch at the German Village Society and then went on a Scavenger Hunt, during which we walked around the village and found various structures and interesting landmarks. We definitely learned a lot so make sure you ask us about our trip!
